I wanted to add this, my granddaughter was born at this hospital and was delivered early (3lbs)! I can't believe what an outstanding job they did with her the Nicu department, all the nurses and doctors are to be commended on the excellent job! It's to bad that the adult care floors are not held as accountable as the Nicu. I'm not speaking to the doctors who provided service at this hospital, because every doctor who cared for me was outstanding (second to none it is the financial department and the standard of care at night that need to be revamped). I felt as if I was in a detention center vs. Each person is different and each person has different needs. This hospital lacks in many areas and needs the CEO to look into human care and not always following the written polices. Not to mention they can't call a doctor for guidance in the middle of the night. They are overworked and they often have to take on an extra patient because they work short a nurse at night. The night nurse don't have time to be kind and thus leave you in the room for hours without care. she is kind and truly cares about people. However there was one nurse who was outstanding. So, I of course said yes, she was a bully and should never be allowed into the room of a patient again. A women from the financial department showed up in my room in the midst of my suffering (while I was on Morphine) and ask me some questions and then told me in order to continue receiving care I needed to say yes. While I'm grateful to those who cared for me the financial department is extremely rude. If you are eligible for financial assistance, the amount charged for emergency or other medically necessary care will not exceed amounts generally billed to patients with insurance.
